Buckminster Barn – Let your child experience the great outdoors

Buckminster Bushcraft is an inspiring place for children to have a wild adventure and be at one with nature

Monday 18th February & Friday 22nd February

Join us on either Monday 18th February or Friday 22nd February for our Bushcraft Holiday Clubs which are held at Annises wood just outside the village of Buckminster.  Our instructor, Dominic is fully trained, insured and DBS checked. Dominic offers a wide variety of fun and inspiring bushcraft activities. The aim is to provide each child with a good foundation in bushcraft skills including shelter building, fire lighting, water collection and purification, wild foods, camp craft and much more.

FOOD AND DRINK

Snacks: Hot drinks, biscuits and a mid-morning snack will be provided.
Depending on availability, we sometimes offer a taste of ‘wild food’, for example this might be insects we buy in or foraged plants. Most children are curious and we encourage them to try it but there is no pressure. Please inform us if you specifically do not wish your child to try it.

Water: Water will be available throughout the day. Your child will need to bring a water bottle.

Lunch: Lunch will be cooked on the fire. If your child has any dietary requirements please inform us on the booking form. Due to the nature of cooking in the woods, there will be limited opportunity for changes on the day. You are welcome to provide a packed lunch if you prefer.

If your child is bringing any food, please ensure that it does not contain any nuts.

Our holiday clubs are priced at £30 per child which includes all refreshments and lunch on the day.

HOW TO FIND US

We meet at Buckminster Barn near the church in Buckminster (NG33 5RT), just 10 miles from Grantham and easily accessible from the A1. The Barn is signposted within the village and there is ample parking.
