The winner of Heritage Project of the Year will demonstrate depth and breadth of research, knowledge and attention to detail.

You will need to

  • Demonstrate the breadth and depth of research and examination undertaken into the history of local projects
  • Detail and provide a rationale of the variety of materials used for the development of the project
  • Detail its consideration for all technical approaches, for example, this will include time spent for sourcing and procuring techniques to ensure appropriate skills set of availability, material required and the evaluation of any substitute materials if applicable
  • Supply evidence of your overall approach to deliver the high level and complexity required with a heritage/listed development in all areas of design, repair and re-vitalisation
  • Show commitment to the continuous development of heritage skills and training


  • The development project being submitted must be based/carried within the Greater Lincolnshire region 
  • Schemes must have been fully or substantially completed by end of December each year and no more than two years completed
  • Projects or initiatives still at the planning stage are not eligible
  • Judges have the authority to move submissions in order to be considered for other categories

What judges will be looking for in your application

  • It is advisable to submit photographs to support your application.
  • Joint applications for one scheme can be submitted or a single application per organisation
  • Explain why you should win the award
  • Innovation and forward thinking that will help continuous development in the construction sector

Making an application

  • You must answer all the questions in the application form and adhere to the allocated word count
  • Your answers may be accompanied by other material such as brochures, reports and testimonials
  • A maximum of three photos can be included and maybe used for PR purposes

Ensure any accompanied materials used to support your application are emailed at the same time, and are clearly attributed to your business. If the size of your email exceed 5MB please send you documents through a cloud-based file transfer service, such as DropBox or We Transfer.

By post
You can return your application form by post. It must arrive by the advertised closing date each year.

All supporting documents need to be uploaded to a USB and included in the envelope.
