Cold pressed Rapeseed Oil - Home grown red and white wine - Luxury holiday cottage

Our family has been farming for several generations and our aim has always been to create top quality produce which is reflected in our farm being "Red Tractor" certified.

On our mixed arable and stock farm in Fulbeck we grow wheat (our milling wheat is on contract to Warburtons Bakery and we won Northern Regional Grower Award in 2009), barley for malting and oilseed rape (we have won Grower of the Year in both 2015 and 2016 for our rapeseed oil from www.selectlincolnshire.co.uk).

Our herd of pedigree Charolais cattle graze in the ancient parkland surrounding our vineyard and award winning self-catering holiday cottage www.fulbeckgardenscottage.com.

We planted our vineyard in April 2010.  Half the vineyard is planted within the walled gardens and the rest in a field behind the holiday cottage.   We were blessed with a lovely warm and dry week when we planted the vines and managed to persuade family and friends to join us planting all 4000 vines.  Initially, we dug the holes with a spade but with so many vines to go in, we hired a mini digger and our friend Ben quickly jumped on the comfy seat whilst the rest of us did all the back-breaking work!

We are growing six varieties of grape - three red and three white. The red varieties are Rondo, Regent and Fruhburgunder and the white varieties are Solaris, Ortega and Siegerrebe (a muscat dessert wine).

We’ve had lots of interest already about our vineyard, with several groups visiting on our Groups Day.  An original Victorian greenhouse still stands within the walled gardens and houses a red and a white vine. The white grapevine still produces the plumpest grapes even after 100 years, the red grapevine is a mere 20 years old!

We are excited to announce that Fulbeck Gardens Cottage now has its own dedicated website, where you will find all the details you need to make a booking.

Our beautifully renovated, detached former Head Gardener’s cottage is privately situated down a country lane and is adjacent to our walled garden vineyard and sleeps 2-7 people and is within easy walking distance to the stunning cliff village of Fulbeck with its 17th century coaching inn and Tea-rooms and Craft Centre.

There are many country lanes around the cottage and in the surrounding area which make staying at the cottage ideal for walking and cycling.  You can see our pedigree Charolais cattle grazing in the fields around the cottage.
