Wall Walk Aids Air Ambulance

Gainsborough Chamber member Peter Gault of Lincolnshire Co-op LTD together with work colleague Chris Freeman are aiming to raise money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance by walking the full length of Hadrians Wall in May this year.

Peter and ChrisPeter and Chris met fundraising volunteers from the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance when it was chosen as the charity of the year for Lincolnshire Co-operative LTD, for whom they both work. They were so impressed by their dedication and commitment to the charity that they wanted to do something to raise money and also help to raise the profile of the Air Ambulance.

They are walking from Solway in the west to Wallsend in the east and aim to complete the 85-mile walk in five days, they have been training for a number of months with long distance cross country walks with miles of hill work to replicate the terrain around Hadrians Wall.

It costs £1.3m per year to keep the Air Ambulance in service and all funding has to come through public donations and support.

This service is so vital to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and has saved thousands of lives over the years by being able to get injured people to hospital quickly, any one of us could need the Air Ambulance at some time and we need your help and support to keep this valuable service going.

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance recently took part in its 10,000th operation, so this is an indicator of how important the service is to the people of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

They are very grateful to everyone who has sponsored them so far and if you would like to find out more information or to sponsor them on-line then visit. www.justgiving.com/hadrianswalk08 or contact Peter on 07971782845, or Chris on 07866674175 if you would like to donate and offer your support.
