New Sleaford BID Manager

The newly-appointed manager of Sleaford’s Business Improvement District is getting into the swing of things after just a week in the job.

Emma Batty has filled the position vacated by Sandra Grinnell. Emma , of Leasingham, had been employed at Sleaford Golf Club for nine years, working her way up to become manager for the last four years.

She said, "The BID Manager’s job was an opportunity that arrived on my doorstep which I thought looked exciting. I like what they are doing. Sleaford needed a boost."

Emma hopes to inject enthusiasm into improving life for Sleaford businesses.

She said, “They have done a great job so far with the BID and the security patrols have been very well received. I am going to work strongly on marketing and promotion. I can see there are lots of opportunities to do that’.

She also wants to focus on car parking and traffic congestion.

Emma added, "I am here to make a difference. I want the BID to be well supported and for the businesses to really acknowledge that it is a good thing for them when they see the improvements."

On the security side, the Zero Tolerance Business Watch campaigning against crime and anti-social behaviour is going well, as is promotion of the BID itself, support for Sleaford in Bloom and the sustainable carrier bag scheme for Sleaford. The Board is awaiting results of surveys on parking and business crime before taking further action on those issues.
