Changes to Box 1 - Completion of EUR1: (As clarified by HMRC)

If the goods are being exported from the UK, then any EUR1 issued for those goods has to be issued in the UK – Guidance is given in Notice 827.

There can be occasions where foreign companies purchase goods over here and then want to export elsewhere under preference from the UK. In such circumstances it has always been our policy / advice to facilitate these exports so long as a UK address is shown in Box 1.

This can be accomplished by a properly authorised (in writing) UK agent completing the EUR1 on the foreign company’s behalf – so BOX 1 would read “Foreign Company c/o UK Agent” – with the UK Agents address shown.

OR they can simply use the UK Agents’ details – that is up to the parties involved.
