The event was formerly launched by the Right Reverend Dr John Saxbee, Bishop of Lincoln, who provided the audience with his amusing and insightful perspective on procurement and local sourcing. This was followed by presentations from Lincolnshire Procurement, The Ministry of Defence, The Procurement Alliance of North and North East Lincolnshire (PANNEL) and The University of Lincoln, all aimed at de-mystifying the public sector procurement process and providing businesses with the tips and tools required for winning public sector contracts in the future. Business feedback was overwhelmingly positive and most attendees indicated that they were ‘very satisfied’ with the event. One attendee said, "The event was very helpful and most informative." James Makinson-Sanders (TIPPs Steering Group Member) stated, "Critically, the event was really well received by businesses. Over the past few years we have evolved the event in an attempt to provide maximum value for the attending businesses ensuring that all the information we provide improves local businesses' ability to compete for public sector contracts. Most importantly, the event is structured so that businesses get the maximum possible time to spend discussing opportunities directly with public sector buyers."
