Innovation Advice and Guidance

Developing a robust future for business

Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce successfully organised the high-profile launch event for Innovation Advice and Guidance that took place on the 12th of March 2010, at the Epic Centre, Lincoln. The event was very well attended by over 150 delegates from around the county. Delegates gave very positive feedback for the event with it receiving a 98.2% satisfaction rating. Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive of the Lincolnshire Chamber of commerce, said, “We were delighted to be able to support this excellent initiative. At a time when businesses are still facing many challenges as a consequence of recession, we are keen to make sure as many appropriate businesses are aware of the programme, so that they can engage with it to allow them to be more strongly placed to cope with whatever factors may adversely affect them in the future.”

The University of Lincoln’s Prof. Ted Fuller started proceedings with a presentation on how businesses can move beyond the recession. Graeme Leach, Chief Economist of the IOD, gave an enlightening talk on the challenges facing our economy, followed by Prof. David Rae of the University of Lincoln explaining more about how the innovation advice and guidance can help to support Lincolnshire businesses.

After an interactive networking lunch, keynote speaker Rachel Elnaugh gave the audience an insight into how she had turned business adversity into opportunities. During her presentation she underlined how it was to see such a great turn out of Lincolnshire Businesses and was particularly impressed by the ‘real buzz’ to the event. Rachel enthused delegates by giving an inspirational talk to the business audience by sharing her experiences openly and honestly.

Paul Parkinson, Project Manager at the University of Lincoln, said, “We are extremely pleased and viewing the launch as a resounding success. Feedback has been very positive from all who attended, and has already identified that the project is fulfilling a range of real business needs for Lincolnshire’s SME’s.”

Veronica Cini at the University added, “As well as making several business engagements on the day from interested parties, we have already signed up and held meetings with additional forward-thinking businesses for the next stages and are very excited about the scope of the project going forward.”

The programme is now planning six more awareness sessions throughout the county to engage with more businesses who will benefit from the programme. If you require further information please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
