Lincolnshire County Council’s waste services team will be on hand with information about the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership’s target of achieving an aspirational 55% recycling rate by the year 2015.
Visitors to the stand will be able to find out more on how to recycle effectively and the role a proposed energy from waste facility could play.
Pens and pencils, both made from recycled material, and pencil cases made from recycled tyres will be given away. Recycled tea towels and scarves made from recycled plastic bottles will also be on display.
Next to the waste stand will be Lincolnshire Trading Standards’ Packaging Team, who will be raising awareness of excessive packaging and showing people how they can help tackle the problem to make a difference. Free cotton shopping bags and trolley tokens will be handed out.
Ian Walker, Carbon Management Education Officer (Acting) at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “
Details on the Real Nappy Campaign will also be available from the waste team and Trading Standards will have a free quiz, with a special, eco-friendly prize.
