The Visit Lincoln Partnership

The Visit Lincoln Partnership (VLP) is a private public sector collaboration established to deliver coordinated destination management and marketing for the city of Lincoln. A partnership within the Tourism and Hospitality Chamber, the VLP is a Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce initiative and supported by Lincoln Business Improvement Group, Lincoln University and the City of Lincoln Council alongside a range of other key city centre stakeholders.

The VLP was officially launched on the 28th of July 2011 at the Collection in Lincoln. Over 100 businesses attended the launch event to hear how the VLP will bring together these stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate a flourishing visitor economy for Lincoln.

Our Vision

VLP aims to create a flourishing and sustainable visitor economy, maximising the contribution of the sector to economic prosperity, employment and quality of life in Lincoln. Through a coordinated marketing effort around themes of Tourism, Talent and Trade, we aim to put Lincoln firmly on the map, raising the profile of the destination as a place in which to live, work, visit and invest. Working with partners to ensure effective destination management of the city to maintain, enhance and develop product and the public realm that are pivotal to the visitor experience.

The VLP will raise the profile of Lincoln as a place to live, visit, work and invest through three key areas of activity:

Tourism – attracting day and staying visitors to Lincoln for short breaks
Trade – raising the profile of Lincoln as a place to do business, hold conferences and events and to bring group tours
Talent – celebrating Lincoln’s talent; raising the profile of the city as a place to excel in education, sport, music and the arts

VLP is working towards the creation of a Destination Management Plan for the city considering transport infrastructure; quality of product; business development and training and marketing. The VLP will work in partnership with others to deliver this plan.

If you are a Lincoln BIG levy payer, associate membership of the VLP is free. You can also upgrade to full membership, bringing you enhanced direct business benefits.
