Grantham Based EVO Gears up for Carbon Zero Grand Prix

 

The team at Grantham based, EVO Design Solutions, worked round the clock to get their electric race bikes ready for the TTXGP Isle of Man bike race on June 12th 2009. A last minute cash injection, in the form of a grant from the Transport iNet, clinched it for the state of the art bikes to compete along side other international innovators at the event. Lady Cholmeley is holding a Sweet Pea Tea as part of Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Parties (84 being held in Lincolnshire) on Thursday July 2 from 4.30pm – 6 pm. The shop will be open, Marie Curie Stand and raffle. Tickets cost £10.00 and include gardens full of sweet peas and roses and a wonderful Cream Tea with finger sandwiches and scones. Firm’s Free Wills Fortnight Raises Thousands for Charity

A “free wills fortnight” at leading Lincolnshire law firm Bridge McFarland has raised nearly £13,000 for charities in the county. For two weeks earlier this year, Bridge McFarland offered new and existing clients the chance to have their wills written for free in a bid to promote the need for everyone to make a will and to keep it up to date. People who took advantage of the service were invited to make donations to local charities if they wished and, with the money all now in, the total comes to just over £12,950.

 

Bridge McFarland business development manager Simon Oates said, “Our clients proved to be very generous in their donations and, together, we have raised thousands of pounds for Lincolnshire charities including St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby, the RNLI in Skegness, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance  and Louth and District Hospice.”

 

The full breakdown of money raised for local charities is:

 

Head injuries charity Headway in Grimsby, £422.50;

St Andrews Hospice, Grimsby, £4,810.83;

Princes Trust, Lincoln, £150;

Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, £3,405.83;

Louth and District Hospice, £2,322.50;

Skegness Day Centre, £238.90;

The RNLI, Skegness, £1,599.84.
