 Business Podcast

Lincolnshire Media are currently looking at the possibility of creating a monthly Video Podcast that would be hosted on their http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/ website to promote Lincolnshire Businesses, developments in the area, and wholly round up any important business news from the month in conjunction with the Business Echo.

It would enable businesses involved in the project to benefit from the marketing channels that Lincolnshire Media have to offer and also give an attractive and fresh platform for companies to: launch products, share business tips, promote their brand, report on their sector, network and interact with other businesses. Lincolnshire Media are at this stage very interested in hearing from anybody who would like to be involved in such an exciting and intuitive project, whether it is from a contributory or advertising angle and would actively encourage you to get in touch at the contact details below.

Lincolnshire Academy focuses on Farming Future

Local farmers, new entrants to agriculture and budding rural entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to join rural business people at the launch of the Lincolnshire Fresh Start Academy at Riseholme College on Thursday, 29 January.

The Academy will become part of a rapidly expanding network of colleges and groups that help develop the business skills needed to get ahead in modern rural enterprises. The initiative involves three elements - business skills training, mentoring and business 'match-making'. Training is delivered through a series of workshops and followed up via a club structure enabling graduates to stay in touch. Workshops topics are decided by the delegates themselves, but typically cover areas such as marketing, business planning, IT skills, applying for tenancies, diversification and staff management. The scheme is backed by Defra, local professionals and educators.

Among the speakers at the launch will be Alex Albone, farmer and founder of the Pipers Crisps business and Matthew Naylor, a columnist for Farmers Weekly and a local farmer. The first meeting is to be held at the University of Lincoln's Riseholme College, Riseholme Park, Lincoln at 6.00pm.
