Lincolnshire Company is up for Triple National Education Awards

EMAS UK, based in Lincoln, has reached the finals for three prestigious awards at the Education Show, having been recognised for their pioneering teaching resource and on-line tools that supports teachers and non-English speaking pupils in UK Schools. They are a finalist in three categories; Best ICT Product in Primary & Secondary, and the coveted ‘most innovative’ product in education - a system that is said to be technologically simple but packed with technological features that allows communication between languages, not just English.

Chris Pickles, CEO of EMAS UK said, “I’m very pleased to be a finalist in the Education Resources Awards; as a Lincolnshire company it is important that we are seen for the work and support nationally that my team does in schools. We look forward to gaining more momentum as we launch our new services to schools aiming to become school partners by working for a common goal - that of raising the standards in schools by supporting teachers and schools to achieve the potential of each of their students.”

LEEKE Foundation - Trustees Wanted

The LEEKE Foundation is a local charity trust fund which helps young people from Lincoln, financially. They work with A-Level and University students, but are now able to help young people in further education and/or apprenticeships. This is a new area for them, and they would welcome advice from our members who are familiar with young people in training and their needs - ideally they would like you to become a trustee. The trustees meet twice a year, and will look after the finances in line with the Charity Commission requirements. They will administer the fund to suit the needs of young people as circumstances change. Lindsey Lodge Hospice Fundraiser

On the 3rd of June 2009, Louise Wilson lost her very short yet brave battle with skin cancer, aged just 28 years old! What started as a mole on her leg from a sunbed ended with 9 tumours in her brain. During Louise’s treatment, ups and downs and through her courageous fight, she received five star treatment from local hospice the Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

On Saturday 10th April a few of Louise’s friends and family are doing a charity sky dive from 15,000 ft at Hibaldstow air field, then in true Louise style they will be continuing into the night with a huge celebration and fundraising party at the local social club.

They are appealing for any help possible in the form of donations for raffle prizes and will be grateful of anything no matter how small it is to help raise money for such a good cause.

Please click here to visit their just giving page to see photos of Louise and details of the event.

Thank you.
