Lincolnshire Farm Secures its Future with Livestock Grant

 

East Midlands Development Agency (emda) is pleased to announce the latest award of a Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) grant to a livestock project in Lincolnshire. Thorpe Latimer Traditional Farm Meats shop and butchery in Thorpe Latimer near Sleaford, Lincolnshire, has been offered £45,000 to support the sale of home-reared meats.  Previously, beef and lamb that was produced on the farm was being sold from the farm house itself.  Now, the RDPE grant will enable a separate retail shop to be created, also providing new storage and butchery facilities. China Tomorrow - Building innovation links between the UK & China 

14th July 2009, 09:30-17:00, The National Space Centre, Leicester

 

Organised by the China-Britain Business Council and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, the main aim of the China Tomorrow initiative is to promote joint innovation development and opportunities for technology transfer between UK and Chinese enterprises by:

  • Raising interest
  • Increasing awareness on how to collaborate successfully on technology development / technology transfer and innovation - for example, by showcasing existing collaborations.
  • Increasing the capabilities of UK companies to work jointly with Chinese partners

The goal of China Tomorrow is therefore to help provide the opportunity for increased engagement and cooperation; and to develop & grow profitable, sustainable business for the economic benefit of both countries.

 

The first event will be held in the East Midlands, sponsored by East Midlands Development Agency and supported by the East Midlands China Business Bureau

 

Senior speakers from the economic powerhouse of Chongqing will also participate at these events - from the Science and Technology Commission, the High-Tech Incubation Centre, and the Intellectual Property Bureau - to provide an informed perspective of the situation 'on the ground' in China.
