Businesses Given Free Access To Thousands Of New Opportunities

Every small business in the UK will now have free access to thousands of lower value government contracts on the Government’s website www.supply2.gov.uk.

For three years, supply2.gov.uk has advertised thousands of public sector procurement opportunities worth up to £100,000 – making the website ideally suited to small and medium sized businesses. The fee that was previously charged to search the site across the UK will now be removed, providing firms with better access to public sector contracts to help their businesses grow. Searching for lower-value contracts across the UK was previously only available as part of a commercial subscription service, which cost up to £180 per year.

This announcement is a move towards delivering on a key recommendation outlined in the Glover Review - that by the end of 2010 all public sector contract opportunities should be accessible through a single, free online web portal.

Yarborough School A-Level Success

Yarborough School is part of the Young Chamber initiative, and students there have done it again and are now celebrating after receiving their A-level results. With an amazing overall A-level pass rate of 98.3%, a staggering 88% of students received a top level grades A – C.

Recognised by Ofsted as a school with an outstanding and diverse curriculum, all students in all subject areas have done exceptionally well and by working with their committed teachers many have exceeded personal targets. Students have exceeded last years results by significantly improving on their predicted  grades.  Both students and teachers have worked incredibly hard to achieve these results, this is particularly demonstrated in English, Maths, Science, Business Studies and IT where students received 100% pass rate and Sports Studies were 1/3 of students all received grade A’s. Congratulations!

Practical Sales & Marketing Seminars

ADMAR Marketing Support Services are running the following Seminars at Excel House, Wragby, MARKET RASEN, LN8 5AB.

8th September, 24th September, 8th October, 27th October

9.30-12.30 – 3 hour session, only £15.00 per person

Feedback from these past events has been excellent:

“Admar’s marketing seminar provided me with invaluable up-to-date information on data hygiene and management, enabling me to take away practical solutions for my business.  The professional yet informal setting meant that all attendees were able to really get involved in the session, ask questions and fully get to grips with some of the crucial issues surrounding data.  I would urge all companies to take advantage of this great seminar as it’s a fantastic way to ensure your data is working for you, not against you. Ten out of 10 for Mike and the rest of the Admar team for content and delivery.”

Alison Bowie, Director, AJB Communications

Lincolnshire project boosts job prospects for young people thanks to Euro-funding

A project in Lincolnshire is helping get young people aged 16 -24 into jobs, education or training thanks to European funding to boost skills and jobs in the region.

The Employment Finder Service, run by New College Stamford, has been awarded £900,000 from the European Social Fund 2007-13 (ESF) and the Learning and Skills Council East Midlands. ESF is investing £376 million overall in the East Midlands.

Young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET), or who are in danger of becoming so, often find it difficult to navigate the range of options available to them in the educational and employment sectors.

The Service, which began a year ago seeks to simplify the options for those looking to take advantage of personalised learning programmes based on progression pathways thereby providing clear, transparent pre-apprenticeship and pre-diploma routes to learning and employment, through intensive mentoring. Visit www.lsc.gov.uk for more information.
