You are invited to join us for our Sleaford Area Networking Lunch at the Agra on the 8th of September to discuss the Sleaford Town Centre Masterplan – A vision for the future.

North Kesteven District Council with Lincolnshire County Council and the Homes & Communities Agency has recently appointed a team of consultants from Gillespies to help develop a long term vision for Sleaford. This is known as a ‘masterplan’ and aims to set out a framework and strategy for the change and growth of the town over the next 20 to 25 years. A recent study indicated that future residential growth is likely to be significant but currently the town centre does not fulfil its potential in relation to its heritage and history, with a poor visitor experience and a lack of quality in local shops and facilities.

What is the purpose of a ‘masterplan?’ 

•     To understand and analyse the challenges of a ‘place’ – thinking about ‘total place’
•     To identify what needs to be done to:
•     To deliver policy objectives
•     To achieve sustainability
•     To address particular needs
•     It is important in reducing risk and attracting investment
•     To engage the community
